Today the Chagos Islanders had another victory, as the UK government continued lost its appeal in the Court of Appeal, and the Chagos Islanders thus received an affirmation of their right to return home.
The UK government, in league with the USA government, forcefully and brutally evicted the Chagos islanders from their homes in the Indian Ocean in the 1960s and 1970s. The islanders have previously won several court victories to assert their legal rights, but the UK government refuses to accept the legal judgements.
