  • Nice quote for the current Saturn opposition Neptune

A vision without a task is but a dream.
A task without a vision is drudgery.
A vision with a task is the hope of the world.

    Church Inscription, Sussex, England 1730

Here it is in astrological terms....

A vision (Neptune) without (the negative expression of an opposition) a task (Saturn) is but a dream (i.e. Neptune on its own...fantasy)

A task (Saturn) without a vision (Neptune) is drudgery (i.e. Saturn on its own.... dreary mundane life devoid of something uplifting and trascendent)

A vision (Neptun) with (put the opposition together) a task (Saturn) is the hope of the world.

  • Blair, Brown, & the Labour party conference

The Labour party annual conference is due to be held later this month in Manchester, marking Tony Blair's final conference as party leader. The flare-up of the rivalry between Blair and Brown these past few days has not gone away, and the conference will be the next public show-down between the two of them, and indeed between Blair and all those in the Labour party who would like him to resign asap. So who will fare better there, Blair or Brown?

Here is what a pre-programmed interpretation program (useful because it means that the interpretations aren't written with any particular person or situation in mind) has to say about their transits for the 24th in Manchester:

    Blair
    Ascendant Trine Sun

You attract to yourself people of widely divergent life styles, from the most conservative to the most rebellious and independent, as well as some unusual people who have very different aspects to their own personalities. Balancing your own needs for structure and stability with creativity and freedom is a theme you encounter here, and if unresolved, can lead to considerable stress.
    Descendant Septile Mars
A good place to work on joint projects with others, particularly with long-range goals. This astrological influence is subtle and you may not consciously recognize it.
    Ascendant Binovile Saturn
Providing an important service to those who can use your services comes to the forefront.
    Ascendant Binovile Uranus
Relationships with friends and families undergo some changes, which is a difficult transition, but the long-term results are likely to positive.
    Descendant 1/16 Pluto

You may experience a side of life that you rarely encounter, possibly visiting people who are dying, or in unusual circumstances. Handled properly, you can find renewed inner strength, but you could also feel overwhelmed or emotionally depressed from the situations you encounter.

    Brown
    Descendant Conjunct Mercury
You become involved in a great deal of communication here, and you may be asked to speak or become involved with the local media. You are active and tend to be mentally alert and active here.
    Descendant Trine Neptune

    IC SemiSquare Saturn
This geographic area is a very tricky one for you. It is likely that you will move or visit this area when you are undergoing a major life change, or considerable self-doubt. This area can be good for self-questioning and re-orienting but in the long run, tends to present obstacles and challenges to both your career and home life.
    Descendant Biquintile Uranus
You feel free-spirited in this geographic area. You are likely to make friends with some creative and talented people.
    IC Biseptile Mercury

    MC Biseptile Venus
You are likely to feel committed to your family and your career and feel contented
    Asc Opposition Venus/Jupiter
A good possibility that you will attract a better economic situation here! But be wary of spending it even faster than you make it! You attract wealth but tend to be poor at managing it, which can result in being no better off than when you started. You can expect lots of friendships and enjoyable times in this area of the world.
